During the weekend, freaky weather had begun to wreak havoc over Atlantic Canada. The situation now remains the same, in fact, has become worse in some parts. These conditions can be attributed to a winter storm which had swept through the region around the weekend.
Heavy snowfall had occurred which continues to cause a lot of chaos over the region. The northeastern region of Atlantic Canada witnessed power outages with at least 4000 people being without power in the region. Not only this, at least 6500 people in the Prince Edward Island were observing no power show.
As per reports, power outages have occurred due to accumulated snow which fell from trees as well as gusty winds which continued to wreak havoc over the region. The Atlantic Canada region will continue to witness snow accumulation until Wednesday.
It was a busy weekend for snow plough drivers as they kept removing snow from the streets. Cars were being pulled out of snow clad ditches by tow truck drivers. The authorities have asked drivers to be vary of the current situation and begin adjusting to winter driving.
After Wednesday, temperatures are expected to witness a rise as rains are likely to make a comeback. Thus, during the next two to three days, the accumulated snow will also disappear.
