At least six tornadoes have ripped off Southeast Louisiana on Tuesday. These tornadoes have caused major damages to the region as a wave of severe thunderstorms is said to have swept through the region.

Three tornadoes out of the six had hit the New Orleans metropolitan area, thereby destructing homes, knocking down trees and cutting down power lines. The tornado also affected dozens of people who were reported to have been seriously injured though no deaths have been reported so far.

The severe tornado slammed northeast of downtown along the Interstate 10 and Chef Menteur Highway in New Orleans.

The tornado was so strong that it flipped cars, tore off the home roofs, and broke power poles thereby leaving more than 10,000 people without power. Along with the severe tornado storm, heavy rains and hails also lashed Mississippi and Alabama.

As per the weatherman at the Meteorological Department, New Orleans East was destructed by one tornado, while the other two ripped off the surrounding towns of Donaldsonville and Killian.

However, New Orleans East suffered the worst of destructions as the tornado frayed from the base leaving the power lines were strewn dangerously on roads.

As per the Deputy Emergency Management Director, seven homes were destructed in Livingston Parish, Louisiana, located northwest of New Orleans.

Though, National Storm Prediction Center in Norman claims that alerts for tornadoes were already raised stating the highest threat to at least 2.7 million people in parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.
