Following close on the heels of a powerful storm Katie which caused travel disruptions during the Easter holidays, another storm is likely to impact UK this week. This next storm will bring locally heavy downpours and strong winds over some parts of UK on Friday into Saturday.

Rain from this storm will impact Northern Ireland and Scotland on Friday while strong winds will affect Wales and England ahead of the storm. Rain over Northern Ireland and Outer Hebrides will occur on Friday morning with steadier rainfall across Scotland by midday.

Rainfall might be heavy during afternoon hours across western Scotland which will increase the threat of localized flooding. Rainfall of upto 50 mm is expected through Friday night.

Rainfall across much of England and Wales will be light with totals of 10 mm or less, except across northwest England and western Wales where upto 25 mm is possible on Friday night into Saturday.

London and southeast England will not get any rain, except a brief 10 to 15-minute shower on Saturday.

Strong winds gusting upto 65 kmph is possible ahead of the storm on Friday into Friday night. This could cause some travel disruptions. However, the travel disruptions will not be as much as what was experienced during storm Katie last weekend.

A few showers will occur across the UK on Sunday and Monday. However, no travel disruptions are expected during these days.
