The Godzilla Hurricane Irma which was one of the most catastrophic natural disasters for the United States has finally bid adieu. After wreaking havoc over several Caribbean Islands and the state of Florida, Irma has faded away giving the residents a sigh of relief.

After the largest evacuation in the history of United States, life is getting back to normal for the residents of Florida. So much so that many of them are now returning home to face the worst of their fears, to see how much damage has been caused to their beloved homes.

Not only this, power is being restored in some parts along with roads being cleared of the destruction that Irma had caused after leaving. Southernmost islands in Florida may see mass devastation as they were the worst hit in the region.

As per estimates, 25 percent of the homes in Florida Keys have been destroyed while major damage has been suffered by the other 65 percent. At least 12 people have been killed in Florida alone while four died in Georgia and South Carolina.

Even now, most areas do remain without power and services in Florida continue to remain limited. Mobile service is still not completely back on track and gas stations remain closed. Water availability also remains limited.
