As per reports, this tropical storm will be named as Khanun in the Western Pacific Basin. Khanun will bring along heavy showers across Northern Luzon Island by Friday. These downpours are likely to drown the northern as well as western mountains of Luzon.

With increased moisture content in the air, there are also possibilities of heavy intensity showers over and around Manila during the same time frame that will trigger flash flooding and landslides in the low-lying areas, threatening lives as well as property. In fact; the storm will graze strong winds that may cause power outages.

All residents of Northern Vietnam and Southern China are urged to stay alert and cautious.

Already in Vietnam due to flooding, at least 37 people have reported dead and another 21 injured. About 40 people are recounted missing after 17,000 homes were evacuated.

The flooding rains may endure to escort the upcoming typhoon as it weakens over Southern China and Northern Vietnam and adjoining Laos early next week.

It’s almost a month that a typhoon has been wreaking havoc over the waters of the Western Pacific Ocean. This tropical storm in the making will be another active system that is likely to last for the next two to three weeks.
