After coldest night of winter, more snow likely in Britain

Throughout this week Britain has been experiencing heavy snow, dangerous ice patches, flooding and storm. According to reports, temperatures in Highland village of Dalwhinnie dropped to -13.5°C, resulting in the coldest night of the winter in two years.

Warning for ice and more snow has been put in place across Scotland, Northern Ireland, the north of England, Yorkshire and the midlands. Roads, pavements, cycle paths and public transport is likely to be affected with longer journey times on bus and train services. Police has asked people to travel only if necessary.

During the next week, weather is expected to be drier and milder in the United Kingdom after being slashed with heavy rain and snow.

Meanwhile, London is expected to experience a chilly night, with lows of around 2°C but closer to freezing on the outskirts. Heavy rain is expected to be seen which could ultimately result in snow across a large area. Moreover, the west and north of London could also see some snow tomorrow.

London Luton Airport also recorded freezing temperatures during the night and morning hours. Ice is expected to occur on pavements, cycle paths as well as roads which may result in some disruption in journeys.
