Australia bushfires have wreaked havoc and only caused a lot of trouble. In the marathon crisis which has been continuing for several months now, around 2000 homes have been destroyed, millions of animals killed, and 25 people have lost their lives. Figures will only increase as new surveys of firegrounds will be taking place.
Widespread drought and extremely high temperatures have fueled the ongoing fire situation. Smoke has reached to cities of Melbourne, Sydney as well as Canberra and people, particularly expecting women remain vulnerable to respiratory illnesses.
Rains were seen in New South Wales and parts of Victoria, however, the temperatures will once again shoot up and the fires will once again make an appearance. Since the month of September, at least 500 million animals have lost their lives and more than 15 million acres of land has been torched. In New South Wales alone, 4.9 million hectares of land has been destroyed alone.
There were rains over parts of Australia and what the rain has done is stop the forward progress of fire. Therefore, until Friday, temperatures will be on the lower side, however, after that, mercury will once again soar in the mid 40s and fires will flare up once again.
