American space transport services company SpaceX has finally managed to land its unmanned rocket upright. Earlier in the year, SpaceX tried landing the rocket but failed to do so. However, this time the mission was a complete success with the booster landing back safely.
This landing is revolutionary in terms of space travel and operations. By successfully landing its 23-storey-tall rocket , SpaceX has presented the option of using reusable rockets for launching satellites and carrying important resources to outer space.
The rocket attained a height of 200km before making a safe landing on the return trip. SpaceX has a $1.6bn contract with NASA for sending supplies to the International Space Station (ISS).
