This might very well be the most interesting finding in the outer space for humanity. A group of scientists have found out that there are three Earth-like planets within our reach. But the caveat is all these planets are 39 light years away. The study said that the planets are of similar size to Earth and Venus.

Astrophysicist Michael Gillon one of the authors of the study from the University of Liège in Belgium said, “This is the first opportunity to find chemical traces of life outside our solar system.”

The planets are said to be revolving around a star called “Ultracool dwarf”, meaning that star is actually smaller than a usual star and has a lower effective temperature.

The scientists believe the planets have shown features that make them worthy of study – their size, the potential for habitation and their proximity to Earth, which has managed to invoke the minds of the researchers to study their atmospheres. And with everyday advancing technology, they would study them soon.

The study concluded that given all the factors, the planets might have temperate regions that could sustain liquid water, and thus life.

This is considered as a “paradigm shift” in the search of life forms outside Earth.
