After Delhi’s odd and even policy to fight pollution, Noida has also decided to ensure a pollution free city. The city has decided to explore the possibility of shuffling the timings of corporate offices and schools. The pollution drive will be jointly conducted by development authorities and the district administration.
As per the CEO and Noida Authority chairman, Rama Raman, the entire agenda behind this drive is to bring down the pollution levels in the city. Just like Delhi, Noida is also battling high levels of pollution. If the timings are shuffled, the number of vehicles at a particular time will reduce significantly.
Raman also said that instead of forcing people to stop using their personal vehicles, the authorities will encourage the residents of Noida to use public transport like metro and buses. With just a slight change in the timings, not only will the traffic burden in Noida reduce significantly, but pollution levels will also reduce.
The authorities have planned to divide Noida into zones as each zone has a specific problem. This will also help in fighting pollution in each zone separately. Other initiative apart from shuffling timings will also be taken by the authorities for an eco-friendly and green Noida.
