The latest images of Jupiter’s moon Europa from NASA’s Hubble telescope, suggest that water may have been found over the distant moon. The images indicate that the plumes of water erupting from the moon which could harbour life in the far future.
This is a major breakthrough for the scientists as it gives an insight into a source of habitable planet within our solar system. To search for alien life or look for habitable environment within our solar system, scientists believe that beneath its thick layer of ice, there could be a huge ocean, may even be supporting life.
This research is still in an initial phase and to get confirmation, one need to visit the vistas in order to check whether life can sustain or not. And that is not the only hiccup in the entire plan of action. The surface of Europa is covered with miles deep ice, which makes it even more difficult for us to dig for sampling.
But before you start packing your bags, know that Europa is a small moon; much smaller than our own Moon. And it rotates around Jupiter in roughly 3 & a half Earth Days.
