June warmest month for Earth on record, 2015 likely to be warmest year ever

There’s nothing new to tell about how the Earth’s temperature is constantly on the rise. But what if someone told you that June has become the third month in 2015 to break the monthly record temperature. Not only this, the year 2015 is in fact likely to become the warmest year for Mother Earth.

So while we continue to loot and pollute our planet, Mother Earth is facing the heat. As per the findings of NASA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and the Japan Meteorological Agency, June 2015 was the warmest June on record.

June topped the 20^th century average by 2.27°F and the 12 months prior to July were also found to be the warmest on record. While the strong El Nino phenomenon does contribute towards this change in global temperature, it can’t be held fully responsible for it. This is because a lot of record temperatures that the Earth has witnessed in recent times, actually took place in years where no such event took place.

It is interesting to note that right from January to June, 2015 recorded the hottest first half for any year ever. Also, the year 2015 also recorded the highest land and sea temperatures. It is highly unusual as per climate scientists and experts.

When you come to think about it, it does not come as a surprise at all. June was warm for most countries in different parts of the world. Australia, Austria, Spain, Pakistan, and other parts of Asia saw unusually high temperatures. While climate change has been taking place all this while, a strong El Nino has boosted land and sea temperatures. In some ways, it is safe to say that El Nino works as a short-term catalyst. The two combined together generally lead to record high temperatures, as has been the case in 2015.
