If you have been planning a weekend movie marathon plan today, we would beg you to reconsider your night of fun. It is that time of the year, the time when you make a small effort and step towards the protection of your one and only beloved planet Earth.
Earth Hour 2017 is on March 25, which is today, when some of the world’s best landmarks will remain dark to show support for action on Climate Change. The Earth Hour which is (World Wildlife Foundation) WWF’s brainchild, is currently in its tenth year. Founded in 2007 in Sydney, the movement has come a long way.
The Earth Hour was founded for several reasons concerning the environment including rising temperatures, energy consumption and destruction of habitats globally.
Last year was a milestone if stats are to be compared. In fact, at least 178 countries were in support of the action to protect the Earth. Not only this, at least 350 landmarks across the globe which includes the Buckingham Palace, Burj Khalifa and the Eiffel Tower had turned off their lights to show their support.
This year, it is your turn to ensure that all the lights are turned out at 8:30 pm sharp for an hour. Make sure that you do not use your cellphones or laptops. Be a part of the change you wish to see and fight against Climate Change. All you need to do is not turn on your lights and electrical gadgets.
