Wheat's sowing area in India is at 299.33 lakh hectares as compared to last year’s 304.25 lakh hectares, according to the Agriculture Ministry. Presently wheat crop is in vegetative to reproductive growth stage in the key producing states of the country. Present cold weather condition is favourable for the wheat crop growth.
