Wheat sowing area in India is at 303.51 lakh hectares as compared to the last year’s 313.69 lakh hectares, according to the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Ministry of Agriculture. Total area coverage as on January 16, 2015 under Rabi crops moves to 576.73 lakh hectares while last year’s sowing area was at 618.20 lakh hectare.
