As per the recent data released by Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Indian agriculture ministry, wheat`s sowing area in India across the states was down at 30.56 million hectares, as compared to last year’s 31.36 million hectares. Wheat is the major rabi-cereal crop in India. Presently wheat crop is in the grain filling stage.
