This year Urad acreage is up by more than 46% than the normal in season area of 24.39 lakh hectares in the country. As on date, total acreage under Urad stands at 35.68 lakh hectares as against 28.51 lakh hectares sown at the same time last year. High realization from pulses in last year has encouraged farmers to increase area under Pulses this year.
