In ongoing Rabi season, Urad sowing is running behind by more than 9% than the same time of last year. So far Urad has been sown in an area of 2.57 lakh hectares as compared to 2.83 lakh hectares sown at the same time last year. Normal in season area of Urad is 7.54 lakh hectares in the country.
