Government of India had issued a tender to import 5,000 tonnes of urad or black gram to increase domestic supply. The 2015 pulses price rise that threatened common man's staple diet in India is well on its way into 2016 as the central government is accelerating its efforts to boost imports. Government has ordered for more imports of pulses.
