The arrival of new turmeric has increased in Erode spot markets. At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association, the finger turmeric was sold at Rs 7,669-10,189 per quintal and the root variety at Rs 7,339-9,799 per quintal. Around 50 bags of hybrid turmeric from Gundalpet arrived for sale which fetched Rs 10,000 per quintal.
