Turmeric is the major spice cultivated in India. The hot and humid climate of India suits the growth of turmeric crop. India's total spices exports in April-September rose 12% to 421,570 tonnes from 376,584 tonnes a year ago. Total spices exports rose 9% to 69.6 billion rupees from 63.6 billion rupees a year ago during April-September.
