On the supply side, turmeric production in 2015-2016 (July-June) is likely to decrease this season due to deficient monsoon rains during the kharif season. Major turmeric growing regions have witnessed decreased intensity of rainfall during July and August specially in Telangana, Karnataka and Maharashtra, which caused the turmeric acreage to decline.
