India is the largest Turmeric producer with 80 per cent domestic consumption. Turmeric prices usually witness a dip during Diwali, but this time prices broke that trend. The rains in Tamil Nadu is a good omen as traders expect it will compensate for the expected dip in production caused by scanty rains in Telengana and Andhra Pradesh.
