Turmeric| Heavy demand was witnessed for new turmeric

Heavy demand was witnessed for new turmeric at Erode spot markets. But the new turmeric fetched Rs 9,600-9,800 per quintal. The old turmeric was sold at Rs 9,200-9,600 per quintal. At the Erode Turmeric Merchants Association, the new finger turmeric was sold at Rs 9,156-9,889 per quintal; the root variety Rs 8,456-9,056 per quintal.
