Farmers have started the land preparation activities for turmeric planting. Turmeric is planted in the May month. High loamy land is good for turmeric cultivation. Rajapuri (local variety), Selam, Krishna, Phule Swarupa are high yielding turmeric varieties. Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Maharashtra are major turmeric producing states.
