According to the Agriculture Ministry estimates, this year India’s turmeric production will be around 3.7 million bags compared with 5.2 million bags a year ago. Low quality arrivals in spot market were keeping pressure on turmeric prices. Demand from North India and Export demand will expected to rise in coming weeks, said the traders.
