Tur or pigeonpea crop is almost harvested in the key producing states of India. Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra are the major tur or pigeonpea producing states in the country. Decline in area under  pigeonpea has affected production of Pulses which is estimated at 5.20 million tonnes for the ongoing crop year 2014-15.
