This year, Tur sowing is down by more than 82% than the corresponding period of last year. As on June 16, tur has been sown in an area of 0.19 lakh hectares against 1.06 lakh hectares sown last year. Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh are the two key tur producing states having normal in season area of 12 and 5.2 lakh hectares respectively.
