Decline in area under Tur or pigeonpea crop has affected production of Kharif Pulses which is estimated at 5.20 million tonnes for 2014-15 year as against their production of 6.02 million tonnes during Kharif 2013-14. Erratic rainfall and dry spells in several parts of the country have also impacted productivity of pulse crops during the Kharif season.
