Decline in area under Tur or pigeon pea has affected production of Kharif Pulses which is estimated at 5.20 million tonnes for 2014-2015 year as against their production of 6.02 million tonnes during Kharif 2013-2014. Erratic rainfall and dry spells in several parts of the country have also impacted productivity of kharif pulse crops.
