This year, Indian sugarcane output is estimated at 342.79 million tons, lower by 7.23 million tons from last year. During the year 2014-15 government has approved implementation of Sugarcane Develop-ment Programme under the National Food Security Mission (NFSM) (Commercial Crops) by following Cropping System Approach.
