Sugar prices were steady at Vashi spot market as supply remained routine and need based local demand. Enough stocks in the hands of stockists kept them away from making fresh bulk buys. The Bombay Sugar Merchants Association’s spot rates were S-grade Rs 2,402-2,555 per quintal and M-grade Rs 2,582-2,702 per quintal.
