Sugar output in India for the season of 2014-15 was estimated at 25 to 25.5 million tonnes, while domestic consumption was at 24.7 million tonnes, according to the figures of central government. According to the government of India, country exported 7 lakh tonnes of raw sugar in the 2013-14 marketing year ending October, 2014.
