Sugar mills in Maharashtra, the country’s largest sugar producing state, have produced 104.75 lakh tonnes of sugar, 28 lakh tonnes higher than at the same time in 2013-14. sugar mills in Uttar Pradesh and Karnataka state have recorded output of 70.9 lakh tonnes and 48.99 lakh tonnes, 6 lakh tonnes and 8 lakh tonnes higher respectively.
