Presently chickpea crop is in vegetative growth stage in the key producing states. Prevailing cool weather condition is favorable for chana crop growth. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister, hiked the minimum support price (MSP) for chickpea by Rs 75 to Rs 3175 per quintal for the current season.
