Mexico has begun negotiations with the US over its new cane sugar import quota, as local industry hopes to raise its exports to its northern neighbor. Reacting to calls from some US refiners who have been pressing US government to boost supplies as prices have risen, the USDA said it would increase raw supplies by about 200,000 tonnes.
