Lower demand has kept the Sugar prices under control. Govt is expecting sufficient stock till next year as Indian sugar market has been isolated with the international market after Govt. imposed 20% export tax and import duty continue to be at 40%. As on 8th July, Sugarcane has been cultivated in an area of 45.78 lakh ha vs 43.68 lakh hectares covered at this time last year.
