India's sugar output till 15 April 2016 is down at 243.44 lakh tonnes as compared to 264.68 lakh tonnes produced during the same period last year, Indian Sugar Mills Association said. The top producing state Maharashtra's sugar output declined by 16.01 lakh tonnes to 83.60 lakh tonnes compared to 99.61 lakh tonnes produced upto 15th April last year.
