Indian sugar production has recorded an increase of 2.8 million tonnes during the current season at 22.18 million tonnes, according to Indian Sugar Mills Association (ISMA). During the same period a year ago, sugar production was recorded 19.38 million tonnes. Maharashtra, UP, Gujarat, Karnataka & AP are major cane producing states.
