Indian Sugar output in 2016-17 crop year may fall to around 23.3 mt, down from 25.1 million tonnes in 2015-16 as two back to back drought in the country has reduced sugarcane production. Indian consumption for the year is around 26 million tonnes. Currently country has around 7.0 million of sugar stock and to fill the supply demand gap it may draw down 2.7 million tonnes from stocks.
