According to the second Advance Estimates of Department of Agriculture & Cooperation, sugarcane production in India is estimated at 354.95 million tonnes which is higher by 17.14 million tonnes as compared to its average production of last five years. Maharashtra, Gujarat, UP and Karnataka are the major cane producing states.
