According to the central government sources, this year sugar production in India is going to increase by 4 percent as compare to the previous year. This year India will produce around 255 lakh tonnes of the sugar. Sugarcane crushing is started in the major sugar producing states of India namely UP, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Karnataka.
