In an ongoing Sugar season 2016/17, Sugar production was reported at 27.41 lakh tons till November 30’ 2016 compared to 23.25 lakh tons produced during the same time previous year. This year more mills have started crushing in Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh. As on November 30, 2016, around 365 sugar mills are crushing sugarcane as compared to 340 sugar mills at the same time last year.
