USDA forecasts India's Soybean production at 9.7 mt for 2016/17 in its September reprt, down 15% or 17 lt from last month forecast but higher by 38% from last year's data. Yield is forecast at 0.85 tons per ha, down by 12% from last month forecast and down 5.6% from the five year average. The reduction in yield is due to excess rainfall in key growing areas.
