China, the world's top soybean buyer, likely to import a record 76 million tonnes of the oilseed in the year ending September, up 8 percent from the previous year. The forecast by the China National Grain & Oils Information Center is 2 million tonnes higher than a projection from the United States Department of Agriculture for the current marketing year.
