As per Ministry of agriculture, Soybean sowing is down by more than 19% than the same time of last year. As on June 30, total 15.28 lakh hectares has been sown against 18.92 lakh hectares sown at the corresponding period last year. Soybean area has been shifted to some other lucrative crops such as cotton that had fetched better remuneration last year than the soybean.
