According to the Soybean Processors Association of India (SOPA), area sown under soybean during kharif 2014 is reduced 9.6 per cent in MP at 5.65 million hectares, as compared to 6.26 million hectares sowed in kharif 2013. Indian soybean kharif cultivation has recorded a drop of 9 per cent during 2014 at 10.90 million hectares.
