According to preliminary official statistics, Indian rice exports from October 2016 to March 2017 were estimated at 5.2 MMT compared to 4.8 MMT for the corresponding period of last year, largely on strong resurgence in the demand for both Basmati and non-Basmati rice since December 2016.
