In Andhra Pradesh, Chilli has been sown in an area of 85112 hectares as compared to 88304 hectares sown at the same time last year. Normal in season area is 118022 hectares in the state. Guntur, Kurnool and Krishna are the major Chilli growing mandals and area coverage for the year 2016/17 is 18146, 39875 and 8840 hectares respectively.
