In Bangladesh, for marketing year (MY) 2014/15, Post estimate for total rice area and production is revised down to 11.8 million hectares and 34.6 million tons on lower rice acreage. The MY 2014/15 rice import forecast is raised to 500,000 tons on less rice production, population growth and expectations of competitive import prices.
